I'm glad you feed it living mice - at the least, even if you decide to feed "pre-killed", have some respect for the lizard and make sure it's a -fresh- kill. Frozen food is extremely unnatural for these creatures. Gas some mice with CO2 or something if you absolutely cannot stand the thought of live feeding, but don't make them eat dead, decaying carcasses. Their health & vitality will be your rewards. :-)

It looks like that's one of his first mice, younger tegus tend to go for the hips or waist instead of neck/head first.
