It would be sweet to put a 425 crank and BBC rods and keep it a diesel!!! With some better fuel delivery, maybe something made for a Cummins. Bad ass engine you built though. Very interesting.

@hurst1979olds Well that's good to know, i know engines some what for a 17 year old. Good to know you converted it to a gas. The 5.7s diesel weren't the best diesels... most of them converted them to gas.

if u changed the carb to 85 ethanol.......man. i mean dont get me wrong its monstrous already. u dont know any one selling one huh? diesel block that is

Put it in an Aurora!

what pistons did you use??????? i have a 350 diesel im wanting to convert to gas

Did u get anything from mondello? they are hella expensive

I wonder what bad things would happen if you used the original 22:1 pistons. You would need like 500 octane for one thing probably LOL

@Hotrodx199 From my memory the diesel heads have no combustion chamber. Its just flat with 2 valves per cylinder. The pistons are like a flat top piston so with no cumbustion chamber and flat top pistons is how you get 22:1 compression. If you just put a set of gas heads on it will be roughly 9.5:1 give or take.. Still pump gas friendly.

What kind of heads did you use? and how much did u spend total on your build if you dont mind me asking.

Edelbrock heads. I havent added up my reciepts but it wasnt too bad. Would be worse is i had to have someone build and machine it for me. I did everything myself

sounds powerful. mondello makes an rotating assembly for the diesel conversion. i was gonna do one but im stroking the 403. but it sounds good bud

I built my rotating assembly myself. I called mondello about it and they wanted too much so I pieced everything and machined everything myself(minus crank grinding). And did it cheaper. What are you stroking the 403 too?
