Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree smashes my friend's Ipod before the Portland show (9/16/09). Colin tapes us, Gavin makes a short appearance. IT WAS A HOLY MOMENT!

  • I've said this before, but I'll repeat myself for people who didn't know- This ipod didn't work anymore, it was a dead ipod. So he could've have just thrown it away. Instead, it was made into a piece of PT history :) it was more of a joke than anything else.

  • @zerralia What did your friend tell him when SW asked him what was that for?!

  • @alishaheen just something he thought he could promote them with.

  • Hey, shouldn't you maybe have picked up the pieces yourself? x]

  • with the amount of time and money we spend being PT fans...nah...hehehe

  • How did you get Steven Wilson to smash your iPod?

  • @vineyard93 We asked him. It was quiet simple really...hehehe

  • @4449steam It's like when you turn your favorite pig into bacon, or your favorite religious fanatic into a suicide bomber. It's transcendance, man.

  • God, I'm pretty sure that the guy who owned that iPod probably came all over in his pants.

  • And of course Gavin's carrying drumheads around with him.

  • @ooo0ooo0ooo0ooo0ooo he buys ipods.. and then smashes them with hammers lol :P

  • he gets better and better as he hits the white trash.. ;P

  • Keith Emerson had the knife and the Rondo, Steve Wilson has the hammer and the IPod. Continuing the testosterone tradition!

  • @ooo0ooo0ooo0ooo0ooo A fair question. Steven answered this in another interview by saying that his goal as an artist is to get his art out to as many people as possible. If this means putting music out on iTunes, then so be it. Hopefully, the fans with great interest will seek for the optimum listening experience and then consider his philosophy on listening to albums on a good sound system, holding the album artwork in their eager hands.

  • @zeppelin8

So why do Porcupine Tree sell their music on itunes?

  • What does Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree do with the money they make from selling their songs on itunes?
