  • Rodriguez means "son of Rodrigo" in Spanish. Rodrigo is the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian form of Roderick. Roderick means "famous power" from the Germanic elements hrod "fame" and ric "power". Proper name dictionaries like Behind the Name have information like this.

  • Could you explain the origin or meaning of Rodriguez? The translations I have done are based on close pronunciations of each syllable of Western names and Chinese characters. Thank you.
