What is this, the K5? How are all the manual controls on it, I really want to use my pentax glass again.

The K-5 is a terrific camera and I am very satisfied with its still photo potential. I just wish Pentax could release a firmware update that allows for more manual video options. ISO control, shutter speed, waveform display, and audio level control would be great to see in future updates.

This one was long overdue. Thnx a lot for posting this. I really wish it was longer though, covering more areas such as low light shooting while keeping auto iso in check. Oh and a link to the final cut of that wrench footage, it look great :)

Awesome tips, visuals and technical info, whilst keeping it short and sweet, I like it. Would also like to know more about the controls of video with the K-5, does the workaround for manual video controls on the K-x and K-7 also work with the K-5? I'm still looking for an upgrade for video (from a K-x) and would much prefer to go with a Pentax, they're great value with a massive range of lenses.

Here is the work around for the ISO and SS. It was not easy to follow the directions IMHO but I finally figured it out. It is a workaround to get ISO and SS set to your liking. Hope this helps

Why no hood on the lenses while shooting? :P They're there for a reason :)

You don't have manual control on the K-5 except for the aperture. You can lock exposure, but you can't choose shutterspeed or ISO.

The new K-01 which is coming into stores about now do have manual control how ever, AND it has focus peaking (google it if you don't know what it is), it will make manual focus lenses extremely relevant for use with the K-01 both for video and photography :)
