Let's play world 1 of Super Mario Bros. Special.

Hudson Soft's Super Mario Bros. Special was the first sequel to Super Mario Bros. official licensed by Nintendo, predating Super Mario Bros. 2 (aka "The Lost Levels") by a few months. It was not made for the NES, rather for a somewhat primitive home computer made by NEC, the PC-8801. It's not well remembered today, and what few do remember tend not to remember it fondly, but it's not as bad as some would claim it to be.

  • @IAmKrow uh could u be thinking of the gbc Port of smb - smb deluxe ,

  • you own this game? and the pc-8801?

  • There was a game called super mario quest for the ti 89/92+ which the screen wasn't quite set up for accurate ports of levels and it was only grayscale. However it was in every other way a better game then this.

  • NES version is a piece of art next to this one…

  • what so Special about this? it completely worst then the original

  • Hey guys, I've been looking for an old Mario game which is not part of the mainstream series. It might have been a pirated game or a mod, as somebody put it, though I'm not sure what that means. It was a very colorful and surreal game and I remember you could choose where to start from, it had a map system if I remember correctly. I haven't played it in some 14 years. Can anybody help me? Thanks a lot.

  • Woah! Bowser look's so much, like a demon.

  • In 1-3 I just get the inclination to yell at the screen "why are you doing this? WHY are you wasting your precious time like this?!?!" again and again. Seriously, why do you need to waste 150 Japanese seconds hitting all those useless coin blocks then running directly into the turtle instead of taking him out with a fireball beforehand and just continuing? You seem like you know this game, yet you set yourself up for the time out.

  • I love watching game playthroughs, but this one is so horrible I can't even stand to watch. I have no clue how you brought yourself to play it, but God bless you for sitting through it. My goodness that is horrendous...

  • this looks fail! :P AND funny, duni duni duni! xD
