This exact plane is for sale (as of February 2012). The current owner of the S-51 company (NOT the same guy who owns this plane) is in the process of fixing a minor landing gear issue on this exact plane and then hopes to have it down to Sun-n-Fun in Florida to hopefully gin up interest in getting the S-51 kit back into production.

Not sure, but I think it's a Stewart S-51. AFAIK plans are not available; kits are out there but hard to come by. Google search Stewart S51D.

@MEKskydrol Thank you so much for the reply. You confirmed my suspicion. I have seen the full size restoration/replica Big Beautiful Doll at several airshows. There is also one in England. What a beautiful job done putting this 70% replica together. The owner/pilot can be justifiably proud of this aircraft.

Can someone give the name on the side of the fuselage? It says "L'il" (something or other). I know that it is modeled after Big Beautiful Doll, but it says L'il something. A beautiful job done on construction of this aircraft. Where is it based? Thanks in advance.

@fbenenati You are correct, it is based on the BBD. The name is Lil' Beautiful Doll. It's based out of Lawrenceville, Ga. This vid was taken on the Briscoe airfield. I'm not sure if it's still there or not. The guy that owns it has a few different planes there. A couple of converted pontoons, and a J-3 cub. All very nice. Sadly, I didn't know him personally. One of my instructors did some work on his planes and occasionally brought them down to the hanger we used for light maintenance.
