Rusty's Top 25 Movies of 2009

After not making a year end movie countdown for 2008 (kind of a bad year for movies in my opinion), I decided to make one for 2009. But instead of talking about each pick like I did in 2007, I just decided to display my picks and leave the comment section to discuss them. So leave me some comments and feel free to let me know which picks you agree and disagree with, and what movies I may have left off. And of course, remember that these are just my opinions.

My list this year (in no particular order) includes your basic Oscar picks, such as The Hurt Locker, District 9, Precious, The Blind Side, Crazy Heart, Avatar, Invictus, and Inglourious Basterds. But there are also picks that critics panned, such as Amelia, and movies that people probably never heard of, such as Triangle (my sleeper pick of the year).

This year was a better year than normal for horrors, with movies such as Orphan, Drag Me to Hell, and Paranormal Activity making the list (most horror movies these days suck, so three making the list is good). It wasn't that great of a year for comedies, with only three making the year end list: Extract, Bruno, and The Hangover (I think the hype kind of ruined this one for me). There's a couple of movies with romance, like (500) Days of Summer and He's Just Not That Into You (my guilty pleasure pick of the year). There are also movies heavy on the drama, such as The Road, Brothers, Defiance, and My Sister's Keeper. Rounding out the list is Sherlock Holmes, Pandorum, and A Perfect Getaway.

If I had to give out honorable mentions, I would have to say Everybody's Fine, 2012, Star Trek, The Last House on the Left, The Uninvited, Notorious, Hurricane Season, Bandslam, Law Abiding Citizen, and The Messenger.

Avatar, lol that movie is sooo overrated.Loved seeing Paranormal Activity up there, that one gets way overlooked. I was a little surprised you didn't have Up In The Air on there, but hey, this isn't my list. Good job!

the only thing i hated about inglourious bastards that the whole movie is in german and you have to read throuth the whole movie
