  • I agree with Casablancello. She is more than a remarkable woman. I was in Toronto during the SARS crisis in 2003 and firsthand witnessed her as the cool and wise voice of reason amidst the storm. She may have left us to find her eternal peace, but her memories will never do. I pray for her soul and for her beautiful daughter to find the strength and wisdom of heart to carry on.

  • She was a great woman with a incredible wisdom and a boundless courage. It's not only Toronto's loss, but the whole world. May her soul rest in peace, may her family finds peace in the memories of a remarkable woman that walked this earth.

  • The comments below are so disrespectful. Most likely she was talking like this because of the cancer in her lungs.

I live in Toronto, and I'm grateful to Dr. Sheela Basrur for her exceptional leadership during the SARS Crisis. My heart goes out to her family at the loss of such a wonderful daughter, mother, sister and human being. Toronto, too, has lost a great woman!

  • Say it slowly Don`t be so serious..

  • Don`t be that kind of stress...
