After getting our free scoop of ice cream at Ben & Jerry's, we hit up all the major news stations that were covering the elections. We went to Times Square where ABC and CNN were filming. We passed FOX News on the way to Rockefeller Center where NBC does its thing. It was in Rockefeller Center that we saw Barack Obama win the election.

New York City is about as blue as you can get, so you can imagine the reaction.

I myself am not very political, but I never miss a great party. Feel free to debate in the comments, but keep it clean. I'll delete profanity and ignorance.

  • cool video; i went around to the various news spectacles, too, and was standing not too far from where you guys were at 11pm. i feel like people weren't immediately as excited as they could have been, because at that point it had been pretty clear for a while that obama would win.

    still plenty excited, though.

  • I agree. I thought the little hesitation right before crossing the "270" banner was exciting, though. I was like "C'mon! He's that close just give it to him!!" I took the audio off that part because I yelled way too loud too close to the camera. :)

  • OMG 1.49, girl with the superman photo, that's Gemma Ward (supermodel). Nice to see a fellow Australian. GO OBAMA

  • Haha, I just looked her up. I had never heard of her. I actually bumped into her a few times at the rally. I thought she was pretty but I had no idea she was a supermodel. Thanks for letting us know! :)

  • I SEE ISA! :D

  • I LOVE ISA. (I <3 her more.) :P

  • that was our "fall of the berlin wall" "the fall of the republicism"

  • It never ends now I have another stalker Paperclown following me around and commenting on all my posts past and present, talk about obsessed

  • Pretty cool, didn't know about the meter, the crowd sorta reminded me of the South Park election episode. but the better man won!

  • They did elect the wrong guy. Were all screwed now.

  • Obama isn't change. You got former Bush and Clinton advisors in his cabinet! How is that change! Robert Gates our current Defense Sec. was picked by Obama to be once again our Defense Sec.

For the liberals who thought "were" going to Iraq...you're dead wrong. We are now going to be in Iraq til 2011 and there's not a damn thing Obama can do about it. As much as I dislike Obama we have to accept that he's our president and give him the respect he so rightfully deserves.

  • oh. . .

Thats soo cool, the meter in times square.

Isn't it nice to have an intalectual president.

But honestly I think W was playing stupid the whole time because the rest of his family is rather smart.

The I know the Chaplin @ Punahou school and when he asked 5th grade Berry (Barack) what he wanted to be when he grew up he said a chief in Africa.

So we elected a man who always wanted to lead people :)

  • Me too

  • haha that change guy was great
