  • Very nice flying! It's possibly to fly similarly with an all stock Axe cpv3. Check out my channel.

  • I haven't flown the v3. From your video it seems that the heli does fly quite well. It wasn't out yet when I modified mine. The original Axe CP had some terrible tail motor issues. I changed mine out at least twice a month. It was ridiculous, so I decided to install a belt drive. Sadly, about a year ago, I had a major electronics failure mid flight and wrecked the heli pretty badly. It won't be up in the air until I get a new receiver, esc and repair the mechanical parts :-(

  • Yeah the electronics in the Axe Helis aren't the best.. Not the worst, but definitely not the best. There's nothing worse than a crash that isn't your fault.. I got 'hit' by someone turning on their radio on my frequency at the park one day. I took out the stock 72Mhz receiver and put in a Spectrum AR6110. The only trick doing this was that I needed to use servo signal 'boos' cables because the stock receiver puts out a 5V servo/throttle/rudder signal and the AR6110 puts out a 2.7V signal.

  • Those crashes are definitely the worst. I was so tired of not knowing if or when my heli would decide to plummet to the ground. Switching the radio system is something I really want to do, but I can't find the original (r606fs) receiver for my Futaba 6ex anywhere online. I just have the one on my Axe 400. They replaced it with a 7channel receiver that I could buy for about $100, but I bet the old 6 channel one was slightly cheaper. Looks like I'll be sticking with the 72Mhz for a while more

  • nice flying do you have a head hold gyro and does the mod on the tail help at all I love my CP L is a great bird love the vid great JOB !!!!

  • Thank you. Yes I have a head hold gyro. In my opinion the tail mod greatly improves how the Axe flies. It might require going brushless though, but I still think it's worth it because with more power and control the axe does a great job handling aggressive maneuvers. What I like most of all though is that the Axe still flies great in strong wind conditions with the tail mod + brushless setup
