    a advice:

there is a reason why manufactures always advise riders not to mix and match tires

your Pirelli reacts 100% different from the Shinko

Pirelli have a much softer carcass compare to most tires on the market .

    another advice:

a 190/55 rear would make big difference on the handling of the bike , the stock190/50 are somewhat flat not good for corners, a 190/55 will improve initial turn in - mid corner and exiting.

consider Bridgestone BT-016's with a 55 rear tire those r great

  • @urudufusmisrael

yes i know about the tire selection. i like the sticky tire up front no matter what and the rear i got for commuting since i was spending a lot of time going straight.

im a dirtbiker originally so the bite of the front tire is critical to me. not so much with the rear.

would i do it again - no - sticky round tires from here on out :)

i do appreciate the advice though. a lot of people might not know this.

  • @verthill

no problem im glad you're enjoying your time in the asphalt

myself after running DOT race tires for years , i started to ride on street tires again, i have been riding on Bridgestone BT-002 RS 120/70 F & 190/55 R and found out they offer almost as much grip as a DOT race tire, as far the rear as you stated consider that rear tire plays a huge role at riding ,a bad rear tire could easily "high-side" you, if the rear is sub par, running low pressure could save the day

    cheers

  • yeah i've upgrded to better tire. thinking about DOT race. and maby more track days. get away from that traffic!

  • dude learn how to shift

  • sorry just learning to ride a street bike (dirt biker) and this was a lot different coming from a 2 stroker. lot better now

  • Thanks for the ride. Don't ever sell it.

  • Theres nothing wrong with shinko;s i go scratching with my 005's all the time ,all we have here in NZ is corners, fact is pple over tyre there bikes for the road and pay way more for super sticky rubber that wears out twice as quick, fact is you cant lean over anymore than knee and peg down. The key to being fast is being smooth no matter what the tyres you have on, if your cranked over and feed that rear tyre a big handful you ARE going to come to grief no matter what the tyre, B smooth B fast

  • well done , i just did a trackday this past saturday on my 09 R1 with street tires (Bridgestone BT-002 RS) and it was fine

i say , stick with GOOD street tires till you find yourself over riding them

    then go ahead and upgrade

    ride safe

  • t was the little bump around the corner and yes i do

  • your RC sounds awesome. I might trade my CBR in for one after hearing this video. Scenery looks like north carolina? I learned to ride there and miss those twisties everyday.
