Milton Keynes - Then and Now

A documentary, written, filmed and edited by me and my good friend Mark, about the new city of Milton Keynes.

This documentary was entered into the OxDox:MK competition, 2007. Although we didn't win, we got some good feedback, which hopefully will help us to improve our skills, and make our next film even better!

Mark came up with original idea for the documentary, which was simply to show how fantastic Milton Keynes really is, through a combination of visual images, interviews, archive photographs and narration. I think we succeeded, and hope you guys do too.

last time i went to milton keynes...i would go to this pub that served bombadier...and there was a dog you could buy pints for.... i forget his name...BRUCE...that is his name..and they have this cross dresser that likes to tease you at night..i was hoping it was a girl..but i think it was a guy..who was following me..jumping out the car..smacking his or her own ass..then as i came forward would jump into the car and drive forward again... i hope it was a girl...

Soulless concrete shithole the argument against town planners in a nutshell.

Highest concentration of "single mothers" in the country (It's the only way to get a council flat)

Some older areas such as bletchley and, in particular, wolverton becoming increacingly Islamified.

Large numbers of immigrants and chavs in areas surounding the "city" centre.

Come to think of it, It's pretty much like the rest of the country but with more roundabouts and car parks.

MK is simply the worst TOWN in the country.Its full of stuck up wannabee Londoners who think there a "class above" the rest of the country.They stole a football team,were only formed in the 1960s and also truly believe that there TOWN is a city.FAKE PEOPLE,FAKE TOWN with no soul.

I live here. From a street/teenage perspective, this place is a shit hole and rough as fuck. I would seriously leave at the first opportunity. The Police don't do fuck all and the council are fucking terrible. Dont knock this comment, im just saying how it is from my perspective and a kid growing up in MK.
