This is a personal favorite of mine, mostly because i'm not ashamed to admit that i'm a ringer (Lord of the rings fan) and that the bridge of khazad dum is one of my favorite sequences from the films. Thus, getting the chance to translate it into a stop motion animation video was a chance I couldn't resist.
However, at the time this video was made (in 2002 if I remember correctly), I diddn't have any figures from Lord of the rings, so I had to use whatever I had on hand. Instead of the Balrog, I had to use a Godzilla figure (he was originally going to be a Genie doll from Disney's Aladdin, but I couldn't find him) for the Balrog, and used my room as the set.
Filming this took about six hours. Crossing the bridge was the hardest part because the bridge itself fell down twice (you can see it shift in the video if you look closely), thus requiring tedious adjustments and respositioning.
The lighting was a simple desk lamp covered with red shiny wrap, but it worked very well.
I did animate the second half of the video a few days later, but sadly, it's lost and I have yet to locate it.
For those of you who are wondering why I have an action figure of a young boy, I was a big fan of the movie Jurassic park 3 when it came out, and I wanted to get all the action figures I could. So no, I am not a pervert.
wtf was the point of using star wars action figures????
