The 2005 ND team was great fun to watch,....a solid front 7,....(really 8) on D (with an especially fast, athletic secondary), and a High Octane offense, and game breaking Special Teams, coached by Jeff Bevino.
That year, for the first time in school history, they beat Masuk High (which was enjoying another good year,...on their way to another State Championship appearance,...a loss against Staples as it turned out).
The video was made to get the boys fired up as they prepared for the SWC Championship. This video features clips of the Masuk victory, but also at the mid point you'll see footage of their SWC Championship opponent, and the only team to beat them in their 9-1 season, - Brookfield.
UCONN's LB, and current Captain Scott Lutrus was their big star. They had him at free safety back then,...and as you'll see running back (as he is featured in the Brookfield clips).
In the end, Brookfield beat ND, - but it was a tremendous season, and I am glad I was there to see it !!!
