Cooling should be at the top of the collum and no need for a valve on water tap.

The heat of the still pot what range does it run like a large coffee pot .

Hi, yes this would suit a rookie for sure. Nothing hard about setting up and using this still and the results at the finish really are well worth the price.
It will pay for itself soon after!

These are a great still.
I have been brewing for years and just recently purchased this still and was very impressed with the results.
I had been using a tall column and thought I would never look back until the new T500 was out!
