1998 Honda VFR 800 Interceptor with down pipes and header only. Bike was properly warmed up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit before video test.

Also, it is a 781 cc V4 motor with gear driven cams hence the "mini V8" sound and whine that you hear.

I had to send my Ohlin's shock in for warranty service so I figured I'd take some video of the lovely sound without the Staintune High Mount exhaust on...

Excuse the dirty condition of the bike. The shock leaked after a 200 mile ride in rainy weather and I didn't have time for a thorough wash.

Mods: K&N Air Filter (Switching to BMC this summer), PCIII USB with Stock Exhaust/Air Filter Map( I know I know, I'll get a custom map when the funds are available for dyno time.)

Normally have the Ohlin's Rear Shock on, and a Staintune high mount exhaust. Other Mods are cosmetic. Going to put Sonic Springs or Race Tech Springs in the forks later this summer and hopefully new valving as well.

  • @reaper6676

cats were only on the California models from 1998-1999 and then on all of them from 2000 and on AFAIK.

  • @crayman31 depends on the headers that you get, the stock ones go 4-2-1 like the ones in the vid but the stock ones have a cat at the 2-1, mine go from 4-1 cauz i have aftermarket

  • Hey are they 4-1 or 4-2-1 headers?

  • Amazing.
