Officially 80,000 fans jam packed in the Stadium. I remember Ibrox in those days, look at it!!! There must have been at least 120,000 in that ground. (not including the maximum four to each disability car)

Wouldn't believe a word Murray says

great video looks like we were unlucky not to have scored.
Love how the fans break into Derry's walls at 2.19 its sounds choir like.

Ibrox will one day be a 70,000-75,000 fully-seated capacity once again.
It was in Sir David Murray's plans a year ago where they were going to lower the playing field by so many feet/metres and somehow expand the capacity of the stadium.
Although, looking at the money situttion at Ibrox and the fact that Sir David Murray is no longer fully in charge then its hard to say whether the proposal is still going to go through or not really, nothing else has been said in the last year sadly.

In the late sixties, early seventies Hampden was measured to take 183,000 but safety limitations reduced this to 135,000. Before reconstruction in the late seventies Ibrox had a 70,000 capacity. In the sixties it was 85,000 and in the fifties 101,000 watched Rangers v Hibs in a league decider.

I can't confirm it first-hand, but there are accounts of the 1960 European Cup Final at Hampden having about 125,000 spectators. Lucky ones too, as it was one of the greatest matches ever.
Did Real win 7 nil on aggregate?

Of course you know they did !
Real were at this time perhaps the greatest side ever seen, regular European champs, Rangers were very unlucky not to have won this one at Ibrox though, Im sure even you would agree eh ?
