@Wunlong1234 Although Elvis Costello covered many other George Jones songs, "Stanger In the House" is an Elvis Costello original.

This was released on Almost Blue here in the USA.

The lyric to this is just awesome.

Actually, it was not originally on My Aim Is True but on a promo single included with the Brit pressing of This Year's Model. The flip was a hot live cover of The Damned's "Neat, Neat, Neat"

I am surprised that none of you looked further into this. "Stranger in the House" is a classic George Jones country single that did extremely well on the charts back in the day. Don't you know that Elvis is George's biggest fan? He has covered many of George's songs, especially noted for "Good Year for the Roses", and "Tonight the Bottle Let me down". What's more, they are extremely good friends.

OK, thanks much for the direction!

The original is off of My Aim is True. Can you send me a note as to where this is from?

@wpollock1 you can get it off of the two disc "deluxe" edition from amazon, but my version came from the "Rhino" two disc edition (both actually are different)- I can't find the rhino version on amazon, but it seems like the deluxe version is practically identical
