If it's water-powered, what's making all that noise?
It sounds more like a pump/engine than it does a saw or a system of belts and pulleys?

That "noise" must be from the rusty exhaust on the 19th century turbo charged diesel engine. Why would you expect moving water to be quiet?

The logs are dragged from a large pond with a chain. Then they are rolled onto the carriage. I guess by edger you mean some kind of planer, which they don't need. The log is cut and then turned to the fresh cut flat side.
