    That "noise" must be from the rusty exhaust on the 19th century turbo charged diesel engine. Why would you expect moving water to be quiet?

  • The logs are dragged from a large pond with a chain. Then they are rolled onto the carriage. I guess by edger you mean some kind of planer, which they don't need. The log is cut and then turned to the fresh cut flat side.

  • If it's water-powered, what's making all that noise?

    It sounds more like a pump/engine than it does a saw or a system of belts and pulleys?
