  • there's no doubt at all that this man is one hell of a strength athlete, but i have genuine curiosity only about these wide stance squat records. from the front it doesn't look like he's breaking parallel (even when i pause it, it appears from the front to be high. however, i realize that i'm sitting here watching a clip, whereas the judges have a birdseye view at all angles. i just want to know how these guys are doing it with what appears 2 b a short rom (no hate)???

  • "I bet Chuck could out squat any one of these haters"

    LOL!! ya think? :p

  • which weight category this guy compets at? 275? for some reason i recall 242, btw i agree thouse squats looked bad but i guess it is half a ton so...

  • No way is that a good squat. He appears to be about 3 inches high. All feds say the top of the knee has to be parallel with the hip torso connection.

  • @aappty different federations have different rules. in some of the american ones like this theres no drug testing, youre allowed really really strong supportive gear and as you can see the rules are different esp for squats. so in ipf this is nowhere near parralell but maybe for this fed they allow it. personally i think its a bit of a joke but if thats how they wanna do it...

  • aappty - I'm with you - the guy is obviously an animal but with that technique I can add another 60kg to my 1RM

  • @CJM576 Chuck mostly does hit parallel;) Here he did as well..

  • They compete in shitty federations with low standards who just want to say they have the strongest lifters.

There is a reason you don't see people squat this way in the IPF.

  • At 1:05 the crease of his hip appears to be parallel with the top of his knee which is what the rules state. Like you said though, we're not there judging so it may appear differently.

  • he`s a machine ...bravissimo
