Dolphins encounter while boating in Biscayne Bay, Miami November 30, 2009. Katherine Laskey is driving Franco's boat, spending the last couple of days of vacation before going back to Atlanta. GA. It was a typical beautiful south Florida winter day, 80 degrees, no clouds, flat seas, and nature at its best. It was a Monday, thus we saw very few boats out in the bay. We took off from Matheson Hammock Marina, in South Miami, and went south to Boca Chita Key (National Park) which is about 15 miles away and well offshore. Every one should sometimes experience the beauty and peacefulness of boating.....specially at more sedated speeds (30 mph)
That's awesome!! I lived in Florida for 3 years, and we went boating every weekend. We frequented Sands Cut for the wild life views and had ONE brief encounter with ONE jumping dolphin along side of us for about 15 seconds, on the deeper side/the ocean on Miami side, ......and I had one moment were something soft and round brushed the bottom of my foot that was hanging over the side of a sail boat touching the surface of the water. We never experienced this! You were lucky!!! Thanks!
