Quick little note from Jana: I have published my first novel! 'The Mengliad' is now available on amazon! Check out the website for more info: http://www.janaonwheels.com/mengliad

This video's info:

Star-Crossed Thursday On NBC, original airdate: November 2, 1995

Ok, here's the deal...

November 2, 1995, characters from certain shows bounced around onto other shows. Caroline from 'Caroline in the City' ended up on 'Friends', Chandler from 'Friends' ended up on 'Caroline in the City', and Ross from 'Friends' ended up on 'The Single Guy'.

Chandler's appearance lasted about a minute, and Caroline's appearance lasted less than that, but Ross was in almost half the episode he crossed over onto!

Because of YouTubes 'ten minutes only' rule, I had to cut the last 30 or so seconds off Ross' final scene on the show. If people want to see the final scene in its entirety, and I get enough requests, I can upload just that scene alone. Just, let me know.

Ok, so, episode names are:

'Friends' - "The One With The Baby On The Bus"

'Caroline in the City' - "Caroline & the Folks"

'The Single Guy' - "Neighbors"

  • soo cool!

    wow i never knew that!

its like school you know xD

  • The best school EVER! LOL

Which didn't you know? Any of the crossovers? I thought Chandler on 'Caroline' was pretty well known, amongst 'Friends' fans. A lot of people don't know it was Caroline from 'Caroline in the City' on 'Friends', I know... they just thought she was some pretty red-head, or they knew it was Lea Thompson, but didn't catch the significance. Few remember Ross being on 'Single Guy' (smile) That show didn't last long.

Still playing youtube tag with you (grin)

  • NBC linked across a number of its shows in that time period. If the guest star turns and that blackout stunt/storyline are to be believed, Seinfeld, Friends, Caroline in the City, Mad About You and the Single Guy all existed in the same world. So did one short lived show, called Madman of the People. Ursula, Phoebe's twin sister, was a waitress at Riff's, the cafe that was featured numerous times on Mad About You.

  • nice add me as a friend k

  • Just to confuse things that guy also played the doctor that delivered Ben in friends!

  • So, all three episodes aired on the same date? Does that imply that they all took place on the same day?

I kinda like that idea - it sort of implies that, after fending Ross off with a kiwi lime pie, Chandler got changed and decided to rent a video.

  • didn't phoebe appear in hope & gloria? maybe it was supposed to be ursula?

  • yeah when carol had ben

  • Cool

  • Yes.. thats jonathan silverman, life long friend of David Schwimmer;)

  • Where?
