Tito Bautista was born in Mexico in the town of Jocotepec on Lake Chapala, (near Guadalajara) but has lived much of his life in California.

In 1992, the now 46-year-old won the gold medal at the Barcelona Paralympics as part of the U.S. basketball team.

In the Parapan American Games Guadalajara 2011 Bautista will be competing in the wheelchair tennis event. However, this time he is swapping the U.S. shirt for the green one of Mexico.
