Macross VOXP - Project Missile Massacre

Oh man it's like an insane space shooter. Okay, you're a ship, you dock off your mothership, and fly to the enemy. You shoot your machine guns at some plane, and launch a few waves of missiles. Then, there's like 20 missiles chasing you?! Suddenly your jet turns into a mech and turns around to dodge and shoot the missiles. You're a jet now and chasing your next target with 10 missiles on you. In a flash, you're a mech again, but your head is a plane? You blow up some guy with missiles and your machine gun. Some missiles explode on you, and you quickly fly away in jet form again. You do a shuttle loop and you're suddenly dashing at an enemy plane in robot form with your fist extended. PAWNCH! You smack them and backflip off them while turning into a jet and flying away to your next target while shooting down and dodging 20 more missiles. You've been doing all that with 15 other missiles on you the whole time.

As outdated as this game is, I love it. Heck, you can even play it online. This game really captures the awesomeness of being a jet that transforms into a mech and something in between which dodges hundreds of missiles while killing the crap out of stuff. The music is the Project Sylpheed main theme. To download the game, I'm forcing you to go through my website containing many other mech games.

how the frick do you hit the missles? i have trouble doing it. i end up dying whenever i get 10 or more missles on me

@Belgarion234 It's been a while, but I know it's done in robot form. Isn't there two buttons for machine guns in that form? One of them automatically shoots down missiles.

@OwlSage i figured it out! i had my anti missile radar off (h key) :P

@captainsoban I myself did it by hitting U and flying towards the SDF-1. See if you can target the SDF-1 as well, to be sure. Once you dock, your fuel and ammo gets replenished and you can change your machine settings.
