  • Hi. sorry for the way my message sounded.I meant no offence by it . So please don't be upset. As you play the steely really good, and i listened to lots of your music. I myself can't explain why i said "you won't go back" it was not thought out very well was it.

Its nice to know that so many folk have heard of our David !! You must agree that he's a tough act to follow.

    Sorry once again....Dave

  • @mrsmudger53

Hi Dave, I misunderstood your original post, apologies for my hasty reply,

    Richard

  • Long may David Hartley be the King of the Steelies. If you've not heard him yet.Do listen. You won't go back. He's a good ole british counry boy

  • @mrsmudger53

Agreed, Dave is definately one of the best, I've watched him play live and he is incredible.

I don't understand what you mean when you tell me I won't go back.

Do you mean that I won't go back to playing pedal steel, because other players are more proficient than me ?

    What absolute nonsense

  • Hi Steelie55 :Good sound on this great Ray Price song; love the sound of your steel; what make is it. You do a fine job with the harmonics, man..Bernie

  • Thanks Bernie.

The make of my steel is a 'Denley', a British instrument from the 60's.

It was named after it's designers, Nigel DENnis and Gordon HuntLEY

It was originally a double 8 string, but I converted it to a single 10 with a padded rear neck, 3 pedals and 4 levers, a bit like a Shobud LDG
