Back in 2002, the Watchtower settled out of court in a case involving a charge of vehicular manslaughter against one of their Bethelites.
Why did they pay 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS TO AVOID A JURY DECISION?

  • So in other words by settling, they wiped the slate clean and next time around everything would have to start over from scratch. meaning that it would take a lot longer to rule on the issue. If it had been decided on without a settlement, it would take less time, because the court could refer back to the earlier case. I never thought about it that way. Makes sense. What a crooked organization. I agree they need to come clean, and come to Christ.

  • @earnestlyseeking

Actually, what would happen if it was determined by a jury is this...If the jury saw that the WT Leadership was the AGENCY and Jordan Johnson was the AGENT acting on their behalf and "forwarding their purpose", then they would be found guilty and a "precedent" would be established. That would mean that the WT would be liable for any damages cause by any Bethelite or possibly any JW.

See the potential here for financial ruin?

  • its all about loop holes as well. the land the kingdom halls sit on is called (township) congregation of jehovah's witnesses. this tract of land 1.71 acres its full market value is $500,000! and some of their property is under the name watchtower bible and tract society this large tract of land the full market value is $157,894,737 in 2010 but was reduced to $150,000,000! wonder what happened? anyway its all about how to dodge liability.

  • @1914watcher Wow, I dont remember that one. Did I know them? Let me guess, the WT didnt help pay anything and as a good faithful brother he wouldnt even think of putting any unnessesary burden on "Jehovahs Organization".

  • @peaceintruth I can think of a incident that happened on a quick build that I was on. An elder fell 15 feet onto a slab of concrete that broke his hip, back and legs. I remember a RBC (Regional Building Committee) representative taking charge of the situation. I never thought anything of it back then, freaking jerks! I knew the family and I know who paid ALL of those DR bills. If a person gets hurt on your property, whose insurance pays for accident and injury? SNAKES!

  • @JesusTheMonotheist - I agree with you my friend, you're right. Greed and corruption are in just about every religion that exists. It is a shame that people who "supposedly" confess Christ as Lord often let $ get the best of them. That is why religion to me has no place in my mind, only Jesus. corruption is rampant, So my faith remains in God and not man. God Bless You! and thanx for your post.

  • @TheSnarkyApologist The idea of meeting in homes for field service is to make it appear as if the WT has nothing to do with this door to door work but rather its soley the idea and initiative of the local brothers. They want total control without any responsibility! SICK! And the rank and file totally trust them....sadly they will be disappointed soon!

  • @TheSnarkyApologist WT also had all Kingdom Halls take down any signs or emblems connected to the WT. Also they are encouraging the JWs to meet for field service in private homes now, instead of the Kingdom Hall.I'm not familiar with the details but this is related to an incident where a JW in field service injured someone. Recently, the Circuit Overseer actually said if we meet for field service in homes it will limit the WTs liability!

  • @OurGr8God You guys speak as though only the WT is the only organization that is corrupt, there is greed in mainstream Christianity. It's more shameful for mainstream Christianity when they commit their crimes because they are trampling the blood of Jesus, not so with the JW they don't know Christ intimately.

  • @SpecialPioneerSmerf - When greed and power are involved, there is no room for shame. Or for God for that matter. God is not behind the WT, only greed and power are.

  • @21crosscheck21

And I know, many JWs shall watch Bill's video, and they won't care that their religious organization paid out any money to anyone according to what the courts say... they just go and say its Satan's org coming against us.

  • @21crosscheck21

Yes, I pray the JWs will, to consider that carefully also. I was just praying, and this came to my heart - the Muslims go about saying "Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar", which translated means "Allah is Greater". How is that different then what the JWs are doing, saying Jehovah is greater, didn't Jesus say my Father is greater? So JWs go about saying Jehovah, Jehovah, Jehovah.... he is greater.

It is no different, both Muslims and JWs deny Christ the Lord, our Saviour Jesus Christ.
