Skin a moose without quartering it first. See one of the neatest tools we discovered for splitting the moose carcass (so much easier than using a hand saw). Learn more at http://www.all-about-moose.com

  • Thats one big moose. Great video. Is the dog a Welsh terrier or Airedale Terrier?

  • @FurrylittlePaws

He's an Airedale Terrier. At the time he was about a year and a half old... now he is full grown and he's a BIG dog, right around the 80 pound mark, solid muscle too!

As for the moose, yes it was big wasn't it? Have you ever seen a moose?

  • @AllAboutMoose I only seen a moose before, but a bit smaller than the one in the video

  • @FurrylittlePaws I guess if you've only ever seen one... then that must have been an exciting moment for you eh?

  • Never tried moose meat before. Would love to

  • @KatiushaVN4

Once you eat moose you'll never eat beef again! Just kidding of course. But I can honestly say that we very seldom buy or eat beef. Once in a while if I am out a a good restaurant I'll order a beef steak... usually tenderloin or New-york striploin.

Moose meat is very lean and naturally fed, therefore is a very healthy meat for humans to eat... another reason to eat moose instead of beef.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @rquader It sure was. We actually got three moose that year, our best year. We had four tags but decided that with four moose there was enough meat for all. This was the year I really got involved in calling moose. I called in five all together... this year (2011) I managed to call in seven different bulls. How much fun is that! I'll be posting the video for this years hunt in the coming weeks ahead. Be sure to subscribe to our channel so you don't miss out on any!

  • Looks like a fun hunting trip!

  • @Mr13born79 LOL My Dad tells me of when he and a hunting partner packed some Canada geese that way. They start swaying... opposing each other, making it all-most impossible to walk. LOL

  • @AllAboutMoose Haha... I was imagining a team of 20 8' tall guys packing the thing out tied by the hoofs to a 12 inch diameter spruce pole about 50 feet long.
