Was at Holland Village for meeting. Neighbor called, telling me that my grandfather house area was flooded with today heavy downpours, Thursday 19 Nov 2009. It was flash floods in Bukit Timah areas.
Rushed home, as water slowly rising. Lucky the house on a higher ground and no water comes in... Phew! The highest water level in some area were bellow the waistline. All around me looks like water world park, felt like a kid again and so,so,so tempted to jump in and play around in the murky flood water :-P
"didn't wear my speedo & the body not in great shape anyway... so NOT. Don't like to catch the cold flu ether, heavy work schedule coming next week"
This flood rekindle, the old memory of Kampong Tempe. Around this monsoon season, our area would be flooded and all the kampong kids would come out & play in the water, being school holiday too... Ohh! such Fun! While swimming, you would come across dead chicken, snakes, cat or dog and someone shit bucket "tong taik" sailing beside you... and it overturned on you. It would be all shitty shits... Ohh! such Crap! (this does Not happened to me personally, I've seen it... who ehh?)
Now I found, neighbor's skate board, lawn mower, chairs & alot of dustbin floating around... and I've been chasing my dustbin along the road.
Okey, any old 'kampong tempe' people or anybody here. Please write down your past memory/experience during the monsoon flood.
All is well now, thank you.... alhamdulillah!
kampung tempe used to be my grandparent hometown too....maklum lah wong jawo
