The Lathrup Village Time Bank was founded in January, 2008 to nurture, inspire and motivate a network of neighbors to come together and create a caring and sharing community. In April, 2009, the Time Bank won the District 1 Michigan Municiple League's "Community Spirit" award for being a community project that, in the judge's view, could be "easily spread to other communities throughout Michigan." I like it but human nature being what it is, what do you do when people move away or simply don't give back?

This is such a great idea! I love this. Metro Detroit (the world, really) needs more of these ideas with good follow-through. We're trying to help people in our own way by giving away money with the hope that it will encourage people to give back to their community.
Project 100 is a non-profit organization whose mission is to positively impact the community and its residents by encouraging people to give to others in any way they can. Be sure to check out our videos on our channel!
