Mine has the same sound but not to loud i think, just in the morning idle time, them go away. Here is a big thread in e90post about this ticking. 06-08 e90/e92 n52 engine in my opinion for what i have been read in the thread is staring to replace the lifter and end it in cylinder head replacement.

I got that same sound on mine... just noticed it yesterday. I heard mobile 1 synthetic does the trick? I put Castrol synthetic oil and since my oil change about 10 days later noticed this sound

BMW fixed it for me but it came back a little bit even after that. I sold the car a few months ago so I don't know if anything more has been done to fix it.
