To anyone having any doubts about if they would kill civilians during the nightmare of combat...read the book "Ambush Alley" by Tim Pritchard about the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines in the Battle of Nasiriyah and then come back here and tell me that you yourself would not pull that trigger. This is what happens when you have a bunch of asshole politicians and media who have their head way up their ass sitting there judging the actual troops who are doing the fighting and dying.

I'm a US Marine and the ROE's are fucking stupid...just cuz people back here in America bitch more about the harm of the Iraqi people rather than the harm of their own service men is totally fucking stupid! The people that do not serve should not influence what the government has to do to win the war! BEING OVER THERE is not like reading their fucking RIGHTS! ITS WAR! NOT SOME TRAFFIC STOP! Or a search warrant! The government should not be influenced by those who DO NOT SERVE!

How ironic it is that the politicians failed and then have the audacity
to second guess the military. Politicians are charged with winning the hearts and minds of people. The military option - when used - is to forcefully impose the will of our government. The politicians need to start doing their job instead of playing monday morning quarterback.

1st Lt. Keltner is a smart man. Not an average trigger happy marine. respect.

I served as a Marine. I'm not pro war. I'm not a mindless killer. Those men wouldn't have gone in had they known the house was clear. Marines don't do things to blow their load. That's anti-tactical and costs lives. What happened was a tragic waste and shouldn't have happened. Ultimately, it's what happens when we have a President who uses public resources for private gain. He's no better than a wellfare recipient with an off-the-books-paying job.
