IPSW LOCATION ON MAC : /home/library/application support/itunes/iphone software update

you will need version 1,2_4.0_8A293. it is best to get this by updating your iphone using itunes and not downloading it from a third party website.

YOU WILL NEED TO OFFICIALLY UPDATE YOUR IPHONE TO IOS 4 USING ITUNES BEFORE YOU JAILBREAK SO THAT YOU HAVE THE OFFICIAL IOS 4 IPSW FILE. OTHER IPSW FILES WILL NOT WORK WITH THIS VERSION OF REDSNOW.
