  • Sometimes morality and best practice need the integrity provided by regulation to ensure its continued application.

The small business sector is not really the main element of this debate and there are accepted limitations even by unions on the application of regulation to truly small business. But, as in health and safety issues, community standards for regulation should be accepted by all where they serve the greater good. Cheers

  • I don't believe it is moral to do so, but it should not be illegal. I don't think most people fire people for such reasons, and I believe that the stupidity of such acts is already punished. However, it is far worse to have to submit to government regulation - especially for small companies such as thse described here.

  • Your concepts of community, society and the relationship they have with individuals and rights seems a bit tragic.

Can you really justify where a normal, good worker is denied their right to earn a living because of prejudice, exploitation or mistreatment.

In a democracy business also has a social obligation. Although I gather you don't think so.

If you don't share my views, fair enough, I hope you find success in life on your own terms.

  • So, if I don't want to pay you for work, I have to? Why would any business be required to pay you for any reason? Your so-called right to job security is not a right because it means that some other person no longer has a right to choose how to spend their own money. Wanker.
