Bored one day, and started playing around with some music and a camera. This is my baby: 1964 Ford Falcon Futura, 260 c.i. High-Performance smallblock V8. Edelbrock 650 carb and performer intake, mild cam, and a custom glasspacked exhaust.

  • The song is actually called "Rock 'N' Roll Train" by the way...

  • @sterworks Yeah, I know. I always thought it said "Runaway" until I actually looked up the lyrics once. Fail on me.

  • I'd like to know more about that trans too . . . cause there's no way you're gettin' 325 HP out of that motor with what you did to it. More like 210 . . . if ya did a real bang-up job.

  • It makes less horse on this wimpy ass transmission. There's a ton of stuff that's been done to it, I just named what I know. My mechanic built this engine years ago as a race motor, but the guy he built it for stiffed him so he kept it. It's been tested and dyno-ed at 325, and that's where it should be. I just gotta do some more work, so I'm just stating what its built to be. I honestly have no idea what it makes right now, just what it's rated at with optimal equipment, which I don't have yet.

  • Hmm, 325hp from a 260? Not bad! What tranny are you running? I'm assuming it came with a 2-speed Fordomatic. C4 or a 4-speed would be much better. Manual would probably be best with a lil screamer like that 260. Are you restoring it or keeping it in barn find condition?

  • @mrfarmerjimbob

I'm in the process of restoring it. It's a work in progress. It still has the original 2-speed Fordomatic in it right now, but I'm working on getting a C4 for it. The more aggressive 260 is beating up the poor 2-speed.

  • Sorry, but I'll call BS on 325hp. Shelby didn't even pull anywhere near that in the early Cobras (~260hp). I have a '64 vert with factory 260 block, .460/288 cam, '69 351W 4V heads, Pro Products Typhoon high rise, Holley 600; running through a C4 w/shift kit, and 3.56 rear gears. I'll bet I'm still shy of 250hp. Stock 260 puts out a measley 165hp. Great cars though, still sorry I sold my '64 2DHT, they looked so nice sitting side by side.

  • thats a nice one

  • I like it ! I turned 16 and got my driver's license in 1964 and have always enjoyed these cars. Right now I'm building one for my daughter & son-in-law. Nice sound. We plan on installing a 302 also. Keep up the good work. Greg

  • @64FalconThunder Keep it barn find! They're so much cooler that way!

  • nice car!! looks just like the one i owned, same color.

  • Nice Falcon! I have a friend who has one of these, and I'm trying to convince her to make a V-8 conversion.
