  • hey great project, i just finished mine a couple days ago, sadly i couldn't find my electric saw blades so i had to use a hacksaw to do it all by hand, all in one session, i ended up quiet sore, but is totally worth it the room i got in the trunk is awesome, now i can carry my veterinary gear and have room for say groceries and stuff :D

  • @finmithndil: Awesome! You've made my day, and I'm glad to be of some help --GM

  • @ChasJs: Thanks for your insightful comment. Spontaneous blissfulness must be balanced with a keen appreciation for nature's fury. That same beautiful nature can turn hostile in a blink of an eye. Thus, there is a deep-seated, long-lasting, and joyful reassurance that develops ONLY when one has prepared properly for life's inevitable calamities. Food for thought, my brother; many blessings --GM

  • @ThatDifferentGuy: You have a great plan!

May I suggest you do well in your studies, and finish that goal -- no matter how 'bullshit' the university may appear. I know. I have a Ph.D. from a world-class university, and it appeared like 'bullshit' many, many, many times to me.... But you MUST finish your goal. Or, to put it another way, we all must finish what we start. Just a little friendly advice from someone who's been there :) I wish you all the best, brother! --GM

  • Great idea. We have a Nissan Cube which has a great space behind the rear seat anyway. But I am going to check to see if this could be used in our situation. I like the idea of the items concealed from prying eyes.

  • I like your approach and presentation!

  • "Carefully" must be your favorite word.

  • @darter1075 I'm sure that's something the officer is going to use judgment one though. I mean, if he pulls over a lady with a clean record, somehow notices it, and only finds bottled water and first aid gear, I don't see it as a problem. Especially when the person explains *why* it's there.

Good point nonetheless; always good to review your local laws. I personally wouldn't let them deter me with this.

  • I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but you should check local laws. In most (possibly all) states and jurisdictions it is unlawful to create a hidden compartment or false floor in vehicles for street use. Thanks to drug runners. Cool just the same. Same kinda stuff we used to make to conseal stereo equipment.

  • Great videos!

  • I would use truck only if it has woodgas system

  • R U serious? How much miles could you go without refuel? I rather take horse or bicycle. Because If disaster strikes I think you will end in traffic jam... Best way of transportation in disaster situation is devices without fuel. I think the fastest would be gliders ( para, delta, ultralight) If day is good you could travel up to 200Miler/hour (ultralight superglider) without any fuel. But you have to start from some hill (special location). Then comes horses and then bycicles.
