I figured out that the screen would be fine if I squeezed the frame. Used a C clamp and it took care of the problem. So I wouldn't be going around with a C clamp on my computer, I figured out that those little rubber thingies cover screws. Unscrewed the top 2 center screws, stuck a 4-layer card stock shim under the frame, and tightened the screws. Voila! Fixed. :)

I had the same problem and sometimes the screen shrinks with a yellow tint with blue patch on the left side. I tried all options but it suddenly becomes fine. Now when this happens i reflash the bios and after 2-3 startups it is fine. This looks like a problem with lenovo bios and alos with the video accelerator as this started appearing after updating the video accelerator.

Either that or your CPU,video card,or monitor is screwed up,i would say the monitor ,same thing happend to me but it ws the embeded grafics card so i hade to get a PCI card to fix mine.

Hi dont worry just the only cable going from your lcd to the motherboard disconnect and then connect back it is usually taped with sticky tape to the back of your lcd. usually its connected to lcd on the top middle.
Hi guys did reseating the cable actually work for anyone because it seems as though the issue is only occurring after windows is loading up...so it may just be software related issue. Try to perform a reload using the Lenovo recovery button may help.try to back up your data first though....

Yes it worked for me. You don't see it on the video, but if you have the BIOS display the Lenovo logo on startup rather than POST information, that screen (white background with Lenovo text) does not show.

I have now unscrewed all the screws and removes the plastic frame. However, in order to be sure what to do I will rather ask you. I've made some pictures. Is there some way I can send them to you, so that you can guide me which connector is the faulty one?!

It is the ribbon cable attached to the back of the LCD (about an inch wide and flat). Just remove the sticky tape, the ribbon cable will probably come loose, then just insert it back in to the connector and attach the sticky tape back down. If you look on the Lenovo forums (the same forum I did my post), there are some service videos posted which show you how to take apart the LCD.

Thanks!! I found it! One last Q: Did the the failure ever appear after you plugged in the connecter? Is it likely that this was the problem?

I've never had the failure since. I'd be very surprised if this was not the problem. The connector just wasn't fitted correctly and it was just luck it lasted as long as it did before failing. Good luck
