Ha ha! You're right... a judge NEEDS to be opinionated. "Harsh" is a better word for him. But I agreed with him most of the time, just not necessarily with his delivery. :) I still think the Indian dancers got the shortest end of the stick in that competetion, though. None of the other judges had ever seen Bharatanatyam or Kathak dance before. They were exquisite!
Happy 2012 to you, too! Where are you from?

@903juli Oh Leonardo, he's cute..but just bland in my eyes..overacting, and it feels too contrived..as for a judge being opinionated, how could a judge be non opinionated...haha i love Americans very VERY much but they love to call people opinionated...as if it was a bad thing..hehe Opinion, judging, critique...all of it; makes people and art better...no? ; )
i totally forgot OH WAIT a dark guy i barely remember, hair pulled back or something, he was harsh which i love..LOL Happy 2012!

@jstfacts4u: I love Leonardo, but I have to admit, it's probably at least partially because of his looks. :P But Miriam is definitely the stronger half of the pairing. I couldn't decide whether I loved or hated the South African judge... very odd guy. And very opinionated. I loved the Chinese judge, though. A man of few words. :) And yes, the Russian guy was great!

@903juli haha i was looking around for the clip...but anyway, i really remember the show as one whole competition with disparaging numbers from each country, and the judges were awful, specially the Argentinian hag..i liked the Russian guy he had energy, was direct, spontaneous and liked all the good numbers, which M & L were...still i think the male partners Miriam has had do not serve her as Sandor did.damn him,not saying S deserved M,but they were great..no longer with other partners

I do agree with you about the commercialism, though. I think both the Indian duet and solo dancers got robbed because none of the other judges knew what they were looking at.

@903juli Well crap, it won't let me post a link! Look up "Superstars of Dance - Duet Category - Finale" It has all three final dances and the awards presentation.

@jstfacts4u : Beg to differ... Miriam and Leonardo were not competing against the USA in the finals. They went up against South African and Australia. Here is the clip of the duets finale and results, which they won. :)

@903juli wow! i followed that show, and the finale was hard to forget: Riverdance master gushing about the WINNER,and you could see Miriam's face so disappointed....there was nothing about "best group" or best duet! WHAT? you might've not seen the whole show, i did, now,it's unfair to pit groups with dancers in a way, but they judged from a commercial point of view of "commercial viability" which a tango couple, albeit fantastic,do not hold a whole show on their own, love Miriam not th guy

Ooops. "won", not "one". :P

@jstfacts4u - WRONG! The USA only one best group, not the whole competition. Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo from Argentina won best duet.
