Hello Everyone, I thought I would make a small update to my paintings video. Here's a quick description of each painting in the order they appear:
- Tsarion Kai Ra -
This elusive figure takes on many manifestations and represents a sort of calm and powerful guardian. It also represents a higher self. Something to strive towards. I imagine a version of myself that is perfectly calm and wise and when I feel myself become distressed or fearful I try to put myself into the place of this ideal mindset. In this painting I placed a symbol of two pyramids inverted into each other. This symbol can take on many different metaphors. When I first decided to paint it I was thinking of duality. Good and evil(though cosmically I don't believe there is such a thing) masculine and feminine, pain and happiness. Oil and acrylic on canvas.
- Butterfly - (Incomplete)
I'm not sure how to finish this painting. I wasn't going for any particular message or meaning. Just wanted to paint a butterfly. Oil and acrylic on canvas.
- Guardian - (Incomplete)
Another manifestation of the Tsarion character. I started this on a long time ago. I don't know if I'll finish it. It was going to have a tiny human in the hand of this giant being pointing his finger, looking as though he is scalding the guardian who appears unfazed. Acrylic on canvas.
- Untitled 1 - (Incomplete)
This is an intuitive painting with the theme of water in mind. Oil on canvas
- Oriental Storyteller -
This painting is from my speed painting video. It was done with no plan whatsoever and completed in 2.5 hours. Ink and oil on canvas.
- Flower Painting -
I created this piece for a coworker. It was my third oil on canvas.
- Thermogenesis - (gifted)
The concept behind this painting is the production of heat within the body. It has to do with subtle powers of the mind to effect the body. A concept I find interesting. Acrylic on wood.
- All-Seeing Eye - (gifted)
You may notice that many artists have an obsession with the eye. Both the physical eye and the mind's eye ie. the ability to visualize and then express. With humility we express our gratitude for the blessing of sight and creativity. This eye also represents the quest to see beyond the veil to organic truths and the eternal quest for knowledge. The painting was done with acrylic painted over black spray paint on wood.
- Regen - (gifted)
SImilar to the concept in thermogenesis, this painting has to do with the power of the mind to effect the body. It deals with the concept of visualizing a healed state and maintaining a positive attitude. Acrylic on wood.
- Dragon Sword - (gifted)
I tried to create a stencil of the dragon image in the hopes of easily creating many similar painting with different backgrounds, but the stencil was ineffective. I was just going for something visually aesthetic. Acrylic on canvas.
- Ocean Portal - (gifted)
The concept behind this painting is twisting and bending reality to create new and strange ideas. I wanted to create a lot of strange and intricate detail.
- Embrace - (gifted)
This painting represents the ideal state of harmony between man and women. A state where the different qualities and attributes of the masculine and feminine compliment each other perfectly without conflict.
- Shield -
My first oil on canvas. Intuitive.
- Dreamscape -
The different plateaus of grassland in this painting represent both metaphorical alternate planes of reality (varying perspectives) as well as the hypothetical possibility of extra dimensions, an afterlife, or alternate universes.
