Barak sounds like her. In fact I think that someone in his campaign has taken her slogans, hope and change and used them as themes. Look at her work in Detroit before 2000, look at her work 20 years ago.

I wouldn't be surprised if Barack used some of these ideas. Hopefully he will be President who will use these ideas at a higher level. Hopefully, people will follow and lead as well.

there is one major issue of mrs.boggs that is not addressed by either candidates is ending the glut of materialism. in order for us to have a safe and sane world, we have to learn to live with less, so other people in the world can live. i see in the message of change is physical, first female or the first multiracial. what i hear is the loss of wealth by those who have something and wanting a change so they can regain there wealth and continue material advancement.

I agree that materialism isn't addressed by any candidates. Probably because they know that the economy is based on consumerism (closely allied with materialism). Yet, this issue is at the heart of many of the problems we face today. It would be a breath of fresh air if one of these candidates took this issue head on.

I fully share her views: surely we need a change in our thinking in this country. We need to move away from consumerism and unbridled expansion and consumption to use less and meet the needs of more of our people.

I hope we can achieve Grace's vision of leadership and community involvement. Otherwise we will be the fodder for the rich overlords who pitch rampant consumerism.

There is an amazing comparison to Grace's and Barak's ideas. Both Grace and Barak believe that we are too dependent on external sources of leadership and solutions. They both believe it will take all of us sacrificing for a common cause, not the government to do these things for us. Although Barak believes that government does have a responsibility to show the way to achieve these ideals.
