  • I'm guessing you're using wifi so that is pretty damn impressive. I'll bet the only limitation is how fast wifi powers up.

  • @joe4ska Yep, wifi. I have been doing a lot of work on network startup since I shot this video and am convinced that this is a solid solution.

    For what it's worth, I've dumped pm-utils, netcfg and some of the more "black box" scripts and am now just using ip, iw, and wpa_supplicant (with wpa_auto). The performance demonstrated above is now consistent and reproduces almost every time when sleep/resuming (worst case is that there is a brief pause, but it's rare).

    All in a single acpi script!

  • SSD? I also ditched a network management tool for a couple commands that I have run at boot and on resume... MUCH quicker than the management tool.

  • @ethanschoonover Are you also running a desktop environment on top of Arch? I haven't really needed to mess around with my network configuration as I'm currently using ethernet. However your wake up seems even faster than mine.
