I wanted to do a little show and tell on this interesting shotgun. It's a Mossberg 590 inside of the Mossberg Bullpup stock. This stock will also fit a Mossberg 500.

The upside to the bullpup design is that it is compact in it's overall length. This particular design however makes for a bulky gun. It can feel very awkward in how it manipulates.

It's 20" barrel and full length magazine tube allows for good capacity at 8+1 with 2 3/4" shells. The weight of the gun is greater then I'd like which makes it a handful, but also mitigates recoil; as does the bore axis on the stock.

The protective plate on the stock makes it unusable for left handed shooters. This is a major disadvantage with the design. The Kel-Tec KSG remedied this by making it's ejection to the bottom of the gun.

Overall this is not my favorite shotgun...I prefer a more traditional style tactical shotgun. It's overall length does make it ideal for tight or constrained spaces, but the blocky bulkiness and weight makes it hard to manipulate easily.

Please comment and tell me what you think...Thanks for watching!

  • So was this a converison kit? or was it sold from Mossberg?

  • @machinegun911 It was sold directly form Mossberg...thanks for watching

  • Hey guys. I got to shoot this actual gun. It was very fun. Hey Doc. Great review. It's fun to see a review on some of these old guns. Man technology has come a long way. Still this was probably innovative back in the day.

  • @SnowLobo95 It's no doubt, and interesting gun...Thanks Buddy!

  • nice

  • i used to own one, was fun but had a spongy trigger due to the extension to the actual trigger.

  • when an "A2" model comes out let me know. I see a few issues they need to overcome...but overall, nice shottie man

  • I think I saw this in a gun store once, and I was like, "what is that bullpup weapon?"

  • new to your vids but like them keep up the good work

  • interesting bit of gear DTD. thanks for sharing.

  • by the way, this is a very nice video, it nice to see people review guns like these, :) by the way any chance you could make a review of a madsen m50 submachine gun, ive herd they are easy to get in the us

  • if i lived in amarica(and wasnt 15) and owned one of these, i would tape the grip safety down, with some heavy duty tape, so i didnt have to worry about that, since it obviusly needs a very positive lock on it for it to fire

  • Hey Bud. Sweet. Love Mossberg shotguns. Good vid.

  • I've never seen that before and I'm glad you shared it. Dispite the disadvantages, I still see all the benefits. Freakin awesome firearm, thanks for sharing.
