This home near the community of Pine Ridge on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation was begun by Earth Tipi of Manderson, SD. In this video, David Reed, lead contractor on this build, gives Tasiyagnunpa Livermont of Sustainable Dakota Digest, a tour of the home days before he returns to Texas for the season. The build is 80% finished, and should be habitable after the family does some work this fall. Texas Natural Builders will be back Spring 2012 to finish and look at new, independent projects in the area. As of this video, Texas Natural Builders is the lead organization on this build.

Sustainable Dakota Digest does not give full fact-checking for informational videos such as this. This is what you would experience should you ask for a tour, in fact its part of our journalist's notes, but we hope that it does help you have a feel for what is happening in our area. • Yes human shit and piss usually produces incredibly nutritious gardens. LOL

  • Sheeps wool would be incredibly expensive to buy methinks, and would't the lanolin make it very flammable?

  • Sheep's wool makes good insulation too!
