Actually a vegetable is simply the edible portion any plant cultivated for food. The fact that it is a taproot doesn't mean that it isn't a vegetable. There is, in fact, no specific botanical or biological definition for the word "vegetable".
WRONG! A "fruit" is what a plant bears. The rest of that plant is a vegetable. Look at it like this; roots, stems and leaves are vegetables. That my friend is the scientific answer. Markets have them seperated NOT by fruits and vegetables, but by color and treatment they need to sustain a longer shelf live.
You, in fact, gave the same definition of the word vegetable that I did, so we agree on that. The only difference is that you say that it is the "scientific" answer. If that is actually the case I'd like to see what credible biology source you're quoting from, because I've certainly never seen a rigorous definition of the word.
Just so you know, dictionaries aren't a "scientific" source.
HeeHee.. as far as you know. What none of us may know is she might get one heck of a BIG allowance! And heck, he really owes it to her after what he made her do for the Crawfish episode! (Even is those *were* fake mudbugs, heh.)
