We should add that the Allies opened a second front in the summer of 1944. 85% of German losses are on the eastern front.

  • Its good to remember that Russia was helped with many supplies including airplanes from America through Alaska after having many thousands destroyed in the initial days of the invasion, plus French pilots after France was occupied, plus Partisans that helped claim in some estimates about 300 trains and 90 feet of track a month at one point, to deny Germany supplies, tanks, ammo etc. see "the unknown war, partisans", and Russians fought with grim determination that couldn't be broken.

Though after the second front was opened the western allies suffered larger casualties per week tahn in the east.

  • @theguyforthat lol ok armchair general.

  • OST FRONT!

  • the u.s. could have taken berlin long before the soviets. it was purely a political decision to let stalin take berlin first. a big mistake in my opinion because this decision led to the rise of communism in eastern europe and the establishment of the iron curtain. russia should have been put in her place like patton wanted to do at the end of the war

  • @truvianni how could they have attacked europe? they had nowhere to land, no friendly ports, they would have been spotted by german ships or planes long before they got close enough , England was vital to the whole war

  • russia dominated the war, the rest of the allies were just secondary to the germans. after stalingrad even if germany threw all thier forces at the eastern front they still would have lost eventualy, russia's war production was at least twice as productive as germany's

  • @truvianni If any of the allies had not of being in the war it would of been lost

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION Without Britain the US simply would have done it another way that is all but it is so typical of the British to believe that if they had fallen, the rest of the world would have followed. It is clear you have been listening to too many of Churchill's pompous speeches.

  • @truvianni Without Britain the d-landings would not of happened
