In 2003 my family bought a vintage caboose that for 50 years was used by the Rock Island Railroad. After the railroad's bankruptcy in 1980 it was purchased by someone who had moved it next to a house. We had to move it from there to my parents land. So we had to hire a company that brought out cranes and loaded it onto the back of a low flatbed truck. Being built in 1930, we weren't sure how stable it would be or if it would even hold together when hoisted up. But it did fine, showing how well it was constructed. Little Rock TV station KTHV sent a photographer to film it and they did a nice feature on us moving the caboose that evening, which was aired April 14, 2003. You can see more about the caboose on my web site: http://www.hibblenradio.com/caboose.html
