@NextGenerationMods No way, you first need to master skiing parallel on all grades of groomed slope, with full speed control, proper use of ski poles, and good dynamic balance. Depending on your aptitude this could take 4 - 8 weeks of skiing. Even then you'll end up falling all the time the first time you go off piste, losing one or both skis in the powder, and getting exhausted trying to find them as you walk thru what will seem like porridge. It's not like the movies!

@NextGenerationMods Way to dangerous to really go off-piste. Your skills won't be good enough, especially the turning. You should try it a few yards outside the groomed slopes. You'll notice how difficult it is to turn in real powder. I skied for 12 weerks before I did my first real off-piste, and with special ski's for off-piste. And trust me the groomers will not bore you after one week.

Could any experienced Skiiers tell me if I would be able to ski off piste at the end of my first week? I`ve been skiing a few times on dry ski slopes but I am going to Austria for a school trip. I will be spending 5 hoday doing lessons and 4 hours a day skiing by myself. Would it be ok for me to go off piste towards the end of the week or would it be too dangerous for a person who had only had around 30-40 hours on snow because I really want to do it
Thankyou in Advance :)
