How to coloring in Manga Studio 4 using color layer and pattern brush tutorial. Blending, dodge and burn tool only in EX version. You need to add a color layer, and the color only work on the color layer. Add a new layer and set the color to (32bit color) mode.

*for high res video add &fmt=18 at the end of url

  • wait should i have the hair and the face/body in separate layers or all in 1 layer .

and should each color have its own layer ? please help

  • @Ulquiorra911GT3 The best way is separate color layers for face and body, so you can erase it easily. You can use one layer for each section for coloring, it will blend color in better.

  • OK so my problem is my manga studio debut EX 4.0 is not showing me any other color other than black and whit wtf is going on?

  • @boypaslot You need to use color layer for the color showing. Add a new layer, and in color model choose "color (32 bits)

  • I cannot find the color blend option. Is it because I'm in MS debut 4? If so, is there some way I can blend the colors?

  • @MattHaku39 yes, color blend is EX function only.

  • @HeartfulMe @HeartfulMe omg yes i found it THANK YOU SO MUCH ~tears of joy ~ YOUR a LIFESAVER ^^ty so much for taking your time to reply to my question ty hahah :D ty ty ty truly appreciated :)

  • @kirakiki678 dunno about that, but if you click on the window bar and chose to show 'Materials' and then also activate 'Tool options', you can choose the 'Stamp Tool' (being the one above the zooming option) and change it into the dodge tool by clicking on the stamp image in Tool Options and selecting 'Dodge'.

Hope you understand my little blabbering and good luck with the coloring!
