I do not really like this interpretation of Caravan. There are heavy influences of Oscar Peterson in his playing but the main difference is that it quickly becomes pompous and over-ornemented with little twiggles there and about. Oscar knew how to used them and did not play with them every single 10 seconds. Also, for Marian, it is all about how-many-notes-I-can-play-in-8
-bars, not focusing on the melodic aspect, whereas Oscar put emphasis on the melodical term of fast phrases. -
