What are you talking about? Ron is so awesome he tunes to notes that don't even exist. His sixth string is y and he only sometimes plays it.

@eatofthedead I'm not sure but I think he has a seven string guitar tuned to E standard, and his lowest string is tuned down a whole step (the note A as walls said). It makes for a huge range on the guitar.
